Del Potro To Miss Stockholm & Vienna
Former World No. 3 Juan Martin del Potro has withdrawn from the Intrum Stockholm Open and the Erste Bank Open due to his ongoing recovery from the right knee surgery he underwent on 22 June.
The Argentine has played in just five tournaments this season, most recently competing in the Fever-Tree Championships in June. Del Potro slipped in the second set of his first-round match at The Queen’s Club, fracturing his right kneecap.
The ‘Tower of Tandil’ suffered the same injury last October at the Rolex Shanghai Masters, but did not undergo surgery. The 31-year-old posted on social media Wednesday that he is working hard in Barcelona towards a return.
Hello from Barcelona! Been working with my team and doctors. They are very happy with the results and the rehab progress. Thanks for your messages! 🤗💪🏽— Juan M. del Potro (@delpotrojuan) October 9, 2019
