Mektic/Pavic reach final in Eastbourne

Marcelo Arevalo and Jean-Julien Rojer maintained their strong from Thursday, cruising past Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals at the Mallorca Championships.

The Roland Garros champions broke four times and hit six aces to secure victory after 56 minutes. The top seeds, who advanced to the last four in Halle last week, will next play Rafael Matos and David Vega Hernandez after the Brazilan-Spaniard tandem defeated Aslan Karatsev and Joran Vliegen 3-6, 7-6(3), 10-5.

Ariel Behar and Gonzalo Escobar booked their spot in the final with a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Matthew Ebden and Philipp Oswald. The Uruguayan-Ecuadorian tandem are seeking their second title of the season, having lifted the trophy in Belgrade.

Mektic/Pavic Reach Eastbourne Final
Top seeds Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic moved to within one win of retaining their title at the Rothesay International in Eastbourne, defeating Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares 6-4, 6-4.

The Croatians, who triumphed at The Queen’s Club last week, won 94 per cent (33/35) of their first-serve points to advance to the championship after 61 minutes. Mektic and Pavic will be aiming to win their fourth tour-level crown of the season when they face Matwe Middelkoop and Luke Saville in the championship match.

The Dutch-Australian pair downed fourth seeds Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-8 in one hour and 43 minutes. Middelkoop and Saville are teaming for the first time this week.
