After years of injury, Australian is rewarded with his first major quarter-final
John Millman upset five-time former champion Roger Federer on Monday night to become the first Australian man to reach the US Open quarter-finals since Lleyton Hewitt in 2006. Twelve months ago, Millman was ranked No. 235 in the ATP Rankings and is now assured of a Top 40 breakthrough.
The tennis world reacted on social media to Millman’s big win, a match that ended close to 1 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning.
