Young Guns Captured In Daily Mail Photo Shoot
Six of the ATP World Tour's most promising young guns are captured in an iconic photo shoot...
Billed as “Wimbledon’s new kids on the block”, six of the ATP World Tour’s most promising young guns are featured in the Daily Mail and Mail Online on the eve of The Championships at Wimbledon, starting Monday 29 June.
Thanasi Kokkinakis, Borna Coric, Alexander Zverev, Hyeon Chung, Elias Ymer and Kyle Edmund will all feature in the main draw of The Championships. The starlets were photographed for the Daily Mail exclusively by Andy Hooper, five-time winner of the UK Sports Photographer of the Year award.
"It's great to have some fresh faces and new faces in the Top 100 and a lot are close to breaking through as well," said 19-year-old Kokkinakis. "It's good to have that new young crop coming through.
"It's always good fun to step off the tennis court and do something different for a change. It's part of the fun stuff that comes with the job, so I enjoy that."
"We're definitely a new generation," said 18-year-old Zverev. "We're young and all of us play very aggressive."
"They were really easy and really fun," said Hooper. "Some of them hadn't done a photo shoot before. What we wanted to produce was a picture of the six young guns and we wanted to produce it individually, so we get the guys one at a time, not as a group, then in the finished picture there will be the six of them. The aim is to produce a moody, interesting, creative picture that shows the guys off."
