Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool are back to title-winning ways.
The British pair notched its second ATP Tour crown of the season on Sunday at the Mubadala DC Open in Washington by prevailing 6-3, 6-4 in a rain-interrupted championship match against Austin Krajicek and Nikola Mektic. Cash and Glasspool led 3-1 in the second set when they were forced to wait by the inclement weather in the U.S. capital, but they maintained their composure and upon resumption completed a 76-minute final win.
Competing as the third seeds in Washington, Cash and Glasspool fended off all four break points they faced in their first Lexus ATP Head2Head encounter with the American-Croatian duo of Krajicek and Mektic. The pair has now lifted 10 tour-level trophies together, with two of those coming this season (Barcelona, Washington).
With their run to the Washington title without dropping a set, Cash and Glasspool have consolidated their position in 10th in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings. The 29-year-old Cash and 32-year-old Glasspool are seeking to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals for the second consecutive year, having reached the semi-finals on debut at the prestigious season-ending event in 2025.
