Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Emilio Nava have withdrawn from the US Open, the final Grand Slam tournament of the season.
Nava withdrew on Wednesday, which led to Benjamin Bonzi moving into the main draw. Then when Davidovich Fokina withdrew Thursday, Alexei Popyrin moved into the main draw.
Popyrin had been awarded a wild card into the main draw. But since the Australian no longer needs one, the wild card has been reallocated to countryman Dane Sweeny.
American Martin Damm is the first player out of the main draw. The lefty has been awarded a wild card, so if there is one more withdrawal, he will no longer need it and the wild card will be reallocated.
The main draw of the US Open begins on Sunday, 30 August.
