It is the moment fans around the world have been waiting for. Season Two of Netflix’s hit tennis docuseries Break Point is now live.

Visit Netflix to watch all six episodes from the season, with players featured including Taylor Fritz, Nick Kyrgios, Tommy Paul, Holger Rune, Ben Shelton, Frances Tiafoe and Alexander Zverev.

ATPTour.com recaps the first three episodes of the series with summaries of the season’s final three episodes to come tomorrow.

Episode 1: The Curse - Nick Kyrgios, Aryna Sabalenka
Was there a Netflix curse?

The first episode of Season 2 took a transparent look at the success of Season 1’s stars. One of the biggest standouts was Nick Kyrgios, the 2022 Australian Open men’s doubles champion and Wimbledon men’s singles finalist, who was trending upwards. However, his momentum came to a screeching halt when he was unable to take the court at the Australian Open.

“This feels pretty shit to be honest,” Kyrgios said. “It’s gut-wrenching because I put hours, hours and hours and hours of work in. But when everything’s progressing pretty well, there’s always a problem.”

After going through the players who crashed out of Melbourne early, the attention turned to one Netflix star who proved undeterred by any curse.

Aryna Sabalenka, who gave fans an inside look at her life off the court by taking a camera crew along with her and her boyfriend to a Florida Panthers NHL game, surged to her first major title at the Australian Open.

Episode 2: Friend Or Foe - Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe
The first season of Break Point introduced the stories of Americans Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. Tommy Paul joined the fray for Season 2, which was fitting as the trio competed to become the top American.

Paul was honest about his transition from top junior to life as a professional, explaining how he got off track early on.

“When I turned pro, I was kind of in my party phase,” Paul said. “Got a little money in my pocket and I just thought like ‘Let’s have fun’, you know? Kind of got caught up in it.”

But in 2023, Paul broke through and for a time was in Nitto ATP Finals contention. The highlight of his season came at the Australian Open, where he advanced to the semi-finals. His mother, Jill Macmillan, flew in at the last moment to see the biggest win of her son’s career.

“He had some tough times. I remember getting some gut-wrenching phone calls like ‘Mom, what am I doing?’ It broke my heart,” she said. “He was watching Frances and Taylor just killing it. It made him kind of doubt that he had what it took. But now I’m just so thrilled to see it coming together.”

Episode 3: The Future Is Yours - Holger Rune
Meet Holger Rune, a rising star with big dreams that he is unafraid of striving for. The Dane brings viewers inside his journey to the top of the ATP Tour as he pushes to find every way in which he could improve.

“From a very young age I told my mom, I told my family this is what I want to do and they have been super supportive,” Rune said.

His mother, Aneke Rune, said: “When he was younger, he went full in whatever he did. He didn’t care about what other people thought. To be so strong-minded so young, I think it helped him a lot.”

Netflix helps show Rune’s determination through his consistent efforts to compete with the very best in the world. This is shown directly in his memorable win against Novak Djokovic in Rome.

Producers also provide insight into Rune’s budding Lexus ATP Head2Head rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz, who won his second major title at Wimbledon after defeating Rune earlier in the tournament.

“Alcaraz, what he’s doing is not just incredible. It’s insane,” Rune said. “It makes me raise my level. If it doesn’t hurt a little bit, it’s because you don’t care enough.”

He added: “I’m happy to give him a 2-0 lead [in Grand Slam titles], but let’s count when we finish our careers.”
