Director of Player Well-Being and Care

This newly created and extremely important position represents a positive commitment and intention from the ATP to drive forward standards and provision of player care and well-being.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a desire to help shape the future of men’s tennis, to lead the formulation, development, and delivery of our long-term strategy.  This critical role will require an innovative, strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, who can understand and oversee the provision of care for players in the context of high performance and elite level tennis.

Location
We are seeking the best possible candidate for this critical role. The successful candidate would ideally be based near to an ATP Office (Florida, London, or Monte-Carlo) to support their connection and understanding of the organisation and for strong positive working relationships with key ATP staff to be developed.

1. Immediate and Reactive Provision of Player Care and Support

Respond to and deliver against immediate need within professional boundaries and effectively sign post / refer onwards as required

We are seeking a senior leader to lead ATP’s safeguarding programme. The ideal candidate should have experience developing, implementing and driving international safeguarding policies, strategies and action plans. The candidate should also have experience working with athletes, events and other stakeholders in the elite sports environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the development of ATP’s Safeguarding Programme, including development, implementation, monitoring, and review processes for a new safeguarding strategy (for children, young people, and adults) and an action plan which is underpinned by agreed values and principles to ensure that a player-centred, trauma informed approach is established from the outset 
Establish and coordinate an ATP Tour safeguarding leadership team, with access to external and independent safeguarding expertise (including players and those with lived experience of abuse in sport as experts), to drive the safeguarding strategy and coordinate the development and implementation of the safeguarding action plan
Collaborate with ATP Legal, Player Relations, Tournament Relations, Medical Services, Human Resources, Security, Officiating and Corporate Communications departments, in addition to players, tournaments, and other departments as appropriate to:

Contract Writer/Editor

ATP is seeking a freelance writer/editor to assist our editorial team on an as-needed basis during the year. For the remainder of 2022, your services will likely be needed during the summer swing in the United States and again in November during the Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals and Nitto ATP Finals.

You must have excellent English writing skills and an exceptional level of tennis knowledge. A second language is desired but not mandatory.

This is a contract position with an expected time commitment of between 30-40 hours a week during the weeks you are providing services.

The successful candidate will be based in the United States or Canada and work from a home office.

KEY DUTIES
• Work to strict deadlines based on match play, write accurate, timely and engaging daily tournament match reports and exclusive player features to tell the story of the ATP Tour and promote our players and tournaments in the best light.

• Upload written and photo content via the Sitecore content management system.

• Provision and promote video content flowing into ATP’s video platform

• Make other content posts, including player and tournament updates, photo galleries, charity content and more

• Proofread fellow writers’ articles and assist with daily QA of ATP’s digital assets
