Jenson Brooksby earned an early birthday present at the ATP Challenger 75 event in Fort Worth, Texas, where the American was crowned champion on Sunday.
Turning 26 years old on Monday, Brooksby claimed his fourth Challenger title and first since 2021. The top seed at the Scharbauer-Wikse Ace Outreach ATP Challenger defeated #NextGenATP hopeful and second seed Darwin Blanch 6-1, 6-4 in the final.
“This one means a lot,” Brooksby, former World No. 33 in the PIF ATP Rankings, wrote in an Instagram post. “So much goes into the weeks like this — the work, the frustration, and finding a way to keep moving forward. Proud to finish this week with a title.”
It was a positive week for the 19-year-old Blanch, who is aiming for his first trip to the Next Gen ATP Finals. The American teen won his maiden Challenger crown last month in Tiburon and is now sixth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Reggio Calabria.
