Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool clinched Year-End ATP Doubles No. 1 presented by PIF honours on Tuesday at the Nitto ATP Finals.
The Britons rebounded from their opening defeat by overcoming defending champions Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 7-6(9), 6-2. Neither team held a break point in the first set, but the top seeds found their best level as the match wore on inside Inalpi Arena, where they saved three set points to steal the opener. Cash and Glasspool rarely loosened their group from there to clinch a one-hour, 22-minute victory.

Cash and Glasspool have partnered for seven tour-level titles this season, with their triumphs at Wimbledon and the ATP Masters 1000 event in Canada highlighting their memorable season.
“It’s been one crazy year, that’s for sure,” said Cash after lifting the Year-End ATP Doubles No. 1 presented by PIF trophy in an on-court ceremony. “We put an awful lot of work in during the offseason. We couldn’t have done it without everyone there in the box, also my family up there. It takes a lot of people to get to this spot.
“We’ve ticked off so many things this year and I think we both truly believed at the start of the year that this was possible for us and to be standing here now is very surreal.”
Glasspool added: “We wouldn’t be here without our box and our team. They’ve supported us for many, many years. It’s been an incredible year. Credit to ourselves as well. I think we’ve worked very hard. We’ve pushed each other massively.
By defeating Krawietz and Puetz, Cash and Glasspool clinched their fifth consecutive Lexus ATP Head2Head win against the Germans. Cash and Glasspool fell to Krawietz and Puetz in this year’s Australian Open quarter-finals and have since taken a 5-1 lead in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series.
After falling to home favourites Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in their first match of the Peter Fleming Group, Cash and Glasspool are now 1-1 this week and will next face Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.
