#NextGenATP Italian Federico Cina enjoyed a dream debut at the Mutua Madrid Open on Wednesday, when he overcame Coleman Wong 7-6(5), 6-1 to reach the second round.
The 18-year-old wild card earned victory on his ATP Masters 1000 debut in Miami last month and backed that up with an impressive performance against Wong in the pair’s first Lexus ATP Head2Head meeting.
"I am very happy about this win," Cina said. "Before the match I was a little bit tight but after a few games I started to feel good. It is really special to win a match at this event."
