Three-time major champion Stan Wawrinka was awarded a wild card into the 2026 Cincinnati Open, along with 2017 champion Grigor Dimitrov, former World No. 4 Jack Draper and former World No. 6 Gael Monfils.
Wawrinka, who is playing in his final season on the ATP Tour, will make his 15th appearance in Cincinnati and first since 2024. He will be joined by fellow wild card Monfils, who is making a 14th and final appearance as the Frenchman competes in his final season as well.
Dimitrov returns to Cincinnati as the only defending champion in the wild card batch. The Lindner Family Tennis Center was the site of his lone ATP Masters 1000 title, which he claimed in 2017 when he defeated Nick Kyrigos in the final.
Draper is set to make his second appearance in Cincinnati after reaching the quarter-finals in his debut in 2024. Draper owns one career Masters 1000 crown, claimed at the 2025 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
The tournament also awarded a qualifying wild card to Kei Nishikori, who is competing in his final season on the ATP Tour. Nishikori reached a career-high of World No. 4 in the PIF ATP Rankings and has seen his fair share of success on American hard courts, highlighted by his runner-up finish at the 2014 US Open.
Tournament organizers also awarded qualifying wild cards to American Mackenzie McDonald, #NextGenATP standout Darwin Blanch, and Cincinnati natives J.J. Wolf and Vignesh Gogineni.
The Cincinnati Open, voted by the players as the 2025 ATP Masters 1000 Tournament of the Year, is set to take place at the Lindner Family Tennis Center from 13 to 23 August.
