Argentine Francisco Comesana overcame rainy conditions and American Tristan Boyer to advance at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel on Monday. Seeded at an ATP Tour event for the second time, the seventh seed Comesana fought off Boyer 6-3, 7-6(1) to reach the second round.
Comesana's opening-round clash with Boyer was suspended for approximately four hours after inclement weather closed in, with the Argentine leading 5-2. The 24-year-old returned to court and secured his 12th match win of the season, already three times as many tour-level wins he earned in 2024. Comesana, No. 73 in the PIF ATP Rankings, next faces Arthur Cazaux or Ignacio Buse.
