Fresh off his US Open triumph, Alexander Zverev has led Germany into the Davis Cup Final 8.
The No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings on Sunday defeated Dino Prizmic 6-2, 6-4 to complete his country’s 3-1 victory against Croatia.
Zverev won both of his matches this weekend in straight sets and is now 55-13 on the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. He did not face a break point against Prizmic.
US Open doubles finalists Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz gave Zverev the chance to seal the tie when they beat Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic 7-5, 6-2.
Great Britain defeats Ecuador 4-0
Great Britain swept Ecuador 4-0, with doubles stars Henry Patten and Neal Skupski guaranteeing the tie with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Gonzalo Escobar and Diego Hidalgo.
Toby Samuel and Arthur Fery each earned a victory on Saturday.
