After a challenging North American hard-court swing, Novak Djokovic rediscovered his title-winning form at the China Open, where he also boosted his hopes of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals.
The 39-year-old Serbian extended his perfect record in Beijing to 34-0 by claiming a record-extending seventh title at the ATP 500 event. As a result, he has climbed six places to ninth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin.
ATPTour.com looks at the movers of the week in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin as of Wednesday, 7 October.
Novak Djokovic — 9th (2,840 points), +6
After suffering opening-round defeats in Cincinnati and at the US Open in August, Djokovic made up for lost time with a stunning run to his 102nd tour-level title in Beijing. The 39-year-old advanced past Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Alex de Minaur en route to the ATP 500 crown, significantly strengthening the record seven-time Nitto ATP Finals champion’s bid to qualify for the year-end event in 2026.
Alex de Minaur — 10th (2,690), +2
Although De Minaur retired after dropping the first set against Djokovic in the Beijing final, the Australian can take plenty of positives from his run to a 22nd tour-level title match. With his run, De Minaur has also revived his hopes of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals for a third consecutive year: He has climbed to 10th in the Live Race, just 150 points behind Djokovic.
