Novak Djokovic spent his Sunday with sporting royalty, including Rebeca Andrade, Simone Biles, Mondo Duplantis and Kelly Slater, at one of the most recognisable venues on the planet.
Ahead of the Mutua Madrid Open, the former No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings visited Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to watch Real Madrid face Athletic Club. The home side triumphed 1-0.
Djokovic spent time behind the scenes at the football stadium and caught up with players including Jude Bellingham and Luka Modric.
"What a beauty. Very special. The best stadium in the world. Amazing. Wow. What an experience " Djokovic said in Spanish in a team social media clip before transitioning to English when someone asked if he would like to play a tennis match there.
"A tennis match would be amazing, yeah. Maybe, who knows? One day. That would be great."
For now Djokovic will focus on competing at the Caja Magica in the fourth ATP Masters 1000 event of the season. The three-time Mutua Madrid Open champion will play Matteo Arnaldi or a qualifier/lucky loser in his opening match.
