Since Djokovic made his debut at the Rome tournament in 2007, he has competed in it every year and earned a 68-12 mark, including six titles.
The Serbian most recently triumphed at the Foro Italico in 2022. Djokovic also lifted the trophy in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2020, and reached six additional finals.
Djokovic is still pursuing his 100th tour-level title. He has not claimed one since emerging victorious with the gold medal at last year's Paris Olympics.
The Internazionali BNL d'Italia begins next Wednesday, 7 May.
