Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka took to the courts Sunday evening at the Swiss Indoors Basel, where the two stars shared a behind-closed-doors practice session.
There is plenty at stake for both players at the ATP 500 event this week: Djokovic is back in Basel for the first time since 2011 and chasing one of the five remaining spots at the Nitto ATP Finals, while the 41-year-old Wawrinka is set to retire after the tournament.
Djokovic, currently 11th in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, faces Ugo Humbert in the first round. The 39-year-old Serbian is 319 points behind ninth-placed Rafael Jodar, who occupies the final qualifying spot, in the Live Race.
Wawrinka, making his 19th and final appearance in the Basel main draw, begins his campaign against eighth seed Jiri Lehecka. View photos from Wawrinka and Djokovic’s practice session below.
