Felix Auger-Aliassime maintained his perfect 2025 quarter-final record on Thursday at the Mallorca Championships presented by ecotrans Group, where he rallied past Hamad Medjedovic 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in two hours and 11 minutes.
The second-seeded Canadian fended off three break points in the third set against the big-hitting Medjedovic and gained the decisive break in the ninth game of the set to advance.
The No. 27 player in the PIF ATP Rankings holds a 7-0 record in tour-level quarter-finals this year and is level with Carlos Alcaraz for the most semi-finals in 2025. Auger-Aliassime, a two-time titlist this season, will aim to reach the third grass-court final of his career and first since 2021 when he meets Tallon Griekspoor.
The Dutchman Griekspoor defeated ‘s-Hertogenbosch champion Gabriel Daillo 6-4, 6-4 to advance to his 10th tour-level semi-final and third of the season.
Griekspoor has tasted success on grass in the past, lifting the trophy on home soil in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2023. The 28-year-old saved the one break point he faced against Diallo and struck 19 winners to 14 unforced errors to improve to 2-0 in the pair’s Lexus ATP Head2Head series. Griekspoor is seeking his third ATP Tour title this week.
Corentin Moutet continued his impressive run of form on the grass by defeating #NextGenATP American Learner Tien 6-2, 7-5. After stunning Taylor Fritz for the biggest win of his career last week at Queen’s Club, Moutet is now into his first tour-level semi-final on grass.
“I was trying to stay aggressive, he’s a very solid player, not missing a lot,” Moutet said of Tien, whom he lost to in the third round of the Australian Open this year. “I lost to him already this year so I knew I had to be more aggressive today and serve better, and I managed to do it.”
Into his sixth ATP Tour semi-final, and first since Metz last November, Moutet will face third seed Alex Michelsen, who moved past Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 7-6(4).
Michelsen, who is up two spots to No. 31 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings, is into his third tour-level semi-final on grass following runs to the Newport championship match in 2023-24.
The 37-year-old Bautista Agut delivered an inspired run to the Queen’s Club semi-finals last week, but Michelsen proved too strong in their maiden Lexus ATP Head2Head clash. The American fired 35 winners, including 10 aces, to advance to his sixth tour-level semi-final.
