Joao Fonseca's first-round match at the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers will no longer be played Sunday due to a scheduling change.
Three Toronto qualifying matches were not completed until Sunday due to rain Saturday evening, so qualifiers could not be placed in the draw until those matches were done. Once that happened, Fonseca was drawn to face Tristan Schoolkate, who won a set against Jannik Sinner in the second round of this year's Australian Open.
Since Schoolkate qualified on Sunday, their match will not be played until Monday. It will be the pair's first Lexus ATP Head2Head meeting.
Fonseca had been scheduled to play the second match Sunday evening on centre court. Instead, Shang Juncheng's match against James Duckworth has been moved to that spot.
