Taylor Fritz is set to lead the way at the Dallas Open. The American will be the top seed at the newly upgraded ATP 500 event, which begins Monday.

ATPTour.com looks at five reasons fans should watch for Fritz at the tournament.

It All Adds Up

Home Success
Fritz is an eight-time ATP Tour titlist and he has won four of those tournaments on home soil. He has claimed glory in the United States in each of the past three years and will try to add another victory to his resume.

Since the event moved to Dallas from New York in 2022, two of the three champions have been American. Reilly Opelka triumphed in 2022 and Tommy Paul lifted the trophy in 2024.

Indoor Prowess
Fritz has not yet won a title indoors, but that does not mean he has not proven himself under a roof.

Last November, the 27-year-old advanced to the championship match of the Nitto ATP Finals. Fritz defeated Daniil Medvedev and Alex de Minaur to battle into the knockout rounds and then ousted two-time Nitto ATP Finals champion Alexander Zverev to make one of the biggest finals of his career.

Fritz, who owns a big serve and aggressive baseline game, made the first tour-level championship match of his career nine years ago indoors in Memphis when he was just 18.

Off To A Quick Start In 2025
The No. 4 player in the PIF ATP Rankings lost in the third round of the Australian Open, but is still off to a good start to his season. Fritz helped the United States to its second United Cup title and won four of his five singles matches in the competition.

Fritz only lost eight games across his first two matches of the Australian Open before falling to a red-hot former Top 10 star, Gael Monfils.

Dallas Experience
Although the Dallas Open will be at a new venue — the Ford Center at The Star, which serves as the corporate headquarters and training facility for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys — Fritz will take confidence knowing he has played well in Dallas before. The home favourite made the quarter-finals at the tournament in 2022 and the semi-finals in 2023.

Special Time Of Season
Fritz has historically played well during the hard-court swing following the Australian Open. He has won back-to-back titles in Delray Beach, an ATP 250 event the week after Dallas. Three years ago, Fritz won the biggest title of his career in March at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells.
