Taylor Fritz has a high-stakes Friday ahead of him at the Rolex Paris Masters.
The American faces second seed Carlos Alcaraz in an entertaining quarter-final, and if Fritz defeats the Spaniard, he will qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals.
If Alcaraz advances to the semi-finals, then his countryman Rafael Jodar will fill the final singles spot for Turin, marking his debut at the season finale.
Jodar is currently ninth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin with 3,234 points, but is no longer competing in Paris. Alex de Minaur, who is also done in Paris, is 10th with 3,170 points. Fritz is currently 11th with 3,050 points and would be at 3,250 points with a quarter-final win Friday.
Fritz is aiming to compete at the prestigious year-end event for the fourth time. He reached the championship match in 2024.
The 29-year-old is 1-6 in his Lexus ATP Head2Head series with Alcaraz, with his lone win coming at the 2025 Laver Cup.
Fritz is looking to join the Turin field that includes Alexander Zverev, Alcaraz, Ben Shelton, Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli, Arthur Fils and Frances Tiafoe.
