Tallon Griekspoor won the third ATP Tour title of his career on Saturday when he clawed past Corentin Moutet 7-5, 7-6(3) to lift the Mallorca Championships presented by ecotrans Group trophy.
The 28-year-old Dutchman was able to overcome Moutet’s tricky game and the hot conditions to become the oldest champion in tournament history. The champion did not lose a set en route to his first trophy in two years (2023 's-Hertogenbosch).
"It was super warm again. I guess when you have some nerves it feels twice as warm as it is,” Griekspoor said. “I guess the wind was saving both of us a little bit. But it was hot, it was warm, such a battle. Happy with the result in the end.”

The second-set tie-break proved critical on the back of a set without service breaks. If Moutet won, he would have surged into the deciding set with momentum and dreams of securing his first ATP Tour crown. The lefty showed off his flashy shotmaking with a curling forehand passing shot, but it was not enough.
Griekspoor took an early lead in the tie-break and never looked back, ultimately securing his victory in one hour and 56 minutes. The fourth seed saved all four break points he faced according to Infosys ATP Stats.
“I think I served great in the tie-break. I served great all match,” Griekspoor said. “He made it very, very difficult for me. But like I said, finals are not easy to play, but happy with the win.”
Griekspoor now leads Moutet 1-0 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series and will return to the Top 30 in the PIF ATP Rankings on Monday at World No. 29. He began the week at No. 34.
