Kyrian Jacquet is on a roll at the AITO Hangzhou Open.
The 25-year-old notched a milestone win Sunday at the Chinese ATP 250 event, where he upset sixth seed Fabian Marozsan 7-6(12), 6-4 to advance to his first ATP Tour semi-final.
Jacquet, who stunned third seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the second round, continued his run with a solid performance against Marozsan. In his maiden Lexus ATP Head2Head meeting with the Hungarian, the Frenchman saved three set points in the opening set tie-break, before fending off two break points while serving for the match at 5-4 in the second set.
"It was a great match. I had to stay focused during the entire match because it was really tough," Jacquet said. "I am really happy about my performance today, my attitude and everything else. It was really strong and that's why I won. I am really proud of myself."
Jacquet finished having saved all three break points he faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats, to advance after one hour and 47 minutes. The Frenchman, who is up 25 spots to No. 85 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings, will face second seed Andrey Rublev or countryman Hugo Gaston for a place in the final.
