In other action, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime rallied past Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. The 23-year-old now leads the pair's Lexus ATP Head2Head series 3-2 and has won three consecutive matches against the lefty.
Italian Lorenzo Sonego set a clash against countryman Jannik Sinner when he defeated former Top 10 star Richard Gasquet 6-2, 7-5. It was the 1,000th tour-level match of Gasquet's career.
