Marc-Andrea Huesler is set to retire next week at the Zug Open, an ATP Challenger event in Zug, Switzerland. The Swiss 30-year-old shared the news on Instagram Friday.
"Last dance at home🇨ðŸ‡," Huesler posted on Instagram. "Next week’s @zugopen will be my last tournament on tour for now. It’s been an incredible ride. Reaching World No. 47, winning an ATP Title in Sofia, representing Switzerland on numerous occasions and being able to compete with and beat some of the best players in the world.
"I am filled with gratitude towards everyone who made this journey possible. I’m excited for the next chapter and can’t wait to see you on court next week!"
Throughout his career, Huesler won one ATP Tour singles title at the ATP 250 event in Sofia in 2022. The Swiss also won a doubles crown in Gstaad in 2021, alongside countryman Dominic Sticker. Huesler climbed as high as No. 47 in the PIF ATP Rankings in 2023.
Earlier this year, the 30-year-old reached the semi-finals at the ATP Challenger event in Quimper and the quarter-finals in Lugano. Huesler currently holds a 32-54 tour-level record according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
