Can Jakub Mensik rouse a dazzling debut at the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF?

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a rock-solid first full year on the ATP Tour, racking up a 25-17 win/loss record in the process. Beginning the year as the No. 167 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Mensik reached the second round as a qualifier on debut at the Australian Open before upsetting Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev and Gael Monfils en route to his maiden ATP Tour championship match in February in Doha.

Other highlights in Mensik’s year included reaching his maiden ATP Masters 1000 quarter-final in Shanghai, where he notched Top 10 wins against Rublev and Grigor Dimitrov, respectively, before pushing Novak Djokovic to three sets in the last eight. With a big serve propelled by his 6’4” frame, Mensik followed his Shanghai run by reaching an indoor ATP 500 quarter-final in Vienna.

Having ended the year at a career-high No. 48 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Mensik now seeks a strong debut showing in Jeddah. Find out more about the Czech through a range of ATPTour.com’s exclusive features…
