Mackenzie McDonald and Maria Mateas celebrated their wedding this week surrounded by family, friends and members of the tennis community.
McDonald, the former No. 37 in the PIF ATP Rankings, last competed in US Open qualifying at the end of August before taking time away from the court for the couple’s celebrations.
“Mr. and Mrs. McDonald,” the newlyweds shared on Instagram, prompting an outpouring of congratulations from across the tennis world. ATP and WTA players, including Tommy Paul, Coco Gauff, Taylor Townsend and Michael Zheng, were among those to send their best wishes.
The couple, who announced their engagement in April 2025, have both competed professionally, giving them a shared understanding of the demands of life on Tour.
Mateas has also become an increasingly visible presence within McDonald’s team, accompanying the 31-year-old American at tournaments and supporting him in a travelling-coach capacity.
