Hamad Medjedovic seemed to surprise even himself with a superb tweener winner at last month’s ATP 250 in Mallorca, where he displayed a moment of skill more than worthy of June’s fan-voted Hot Shot of the Month.
Locked in a quarter-final clash against Felix Auger-Aliassime, Medjedovic covered nearly the entire court in a thrilling, all-court exchange, during which the Serbian almost brushed against the net when chasing down a short ball! Then, the 21-year-old found a high gear, sprinting towards the baseline before unleashing one of the shots of the season, all at full speed. Medjedovic lofted a tweener lob over Auger-Aliassime, who was at net.
The No. 68 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Medjedovic raised his arms and cracked a large smile as the Mallorca crowd applauded the video game-esque moment.
This marks the second consecutive month that a Serbian has claimed Hot Shot of the Month honours. In May, Novak Djokovic dazzled with a delicate volley during the Geneva final en route to claiming his 100th tour-level title.
