#NextGenATP American Learner Tien continued his impressive season on Monday at the Moselle Open, where he overcame French wild card Ugo Blanchet 6-3, 6-3 to reach the second round.

The 19-year-old, set to compete at next month’s Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF, has now earned 28 tour-level wins this year, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. Last month, Tien reached the final in Beijing and enjoyed a fourth-round run at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai. The lefty will next meet lucky loser Moez Echargui.

It All Adds Up

Former Metz champion Lorenzo Sonego also advanced, defeating British qualifier Jan Choinski 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Sonego struck 11 aces in his first Lexus ATP Head2Head meeting and will play fourth seed Flavio Cobolli in the second round. Sonego's best result this year was a quarter-final showing at the Australian Open.

French qualifier Clement Tabur downed Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-3, 6-2 to record his maiden tour-level win. Ukrainian lucky loser Vitaliy Sachko also clinched his first ATP Tour victory, defeating Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard 7-6(10), 6-3.

British lefty Cameron Norrie eliminated Valentin Royer 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-3. The seventh seed is competing at No. 27 in the PIF ATP Rankings this week, having been as low as No. 91 in May. Last week, Norrie defeated Carlos Alcaraz in Paris. He will meet Arthur Cazaux in the second round in Metz.

Matteo Berrettini also advanced to the second round with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Quentin Halys. He will next face Frenchman Corentin Moutet or Aleksandar Vukic.
