Spaniard Jaume Munar made a successful transition from indoor hard court to outdoor clay Monday when he began his Cordoba Open campaign with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Daniel Elahi Galan

Munar last week made a first-round exit in Montpellier, France, before making the long journey to Argentina to step onto his preferred clay. The World No. 74, who has been as high as No. 52 in the Pepperstone ATP Rankings, picked up his second match win of the season after saving both break points he faced.

Munar will next take on top seed Francisco Cerundolo, who leads their Lexus ATP Head2Head series 2-0.

Brother Juan Manuel Cerundolo could not take advantage of the wild card he received into the main draw, falling Monday to fellow Argentine, qualifier Facundo Bagnis, 6-4, 6-2.

Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas, the 2022 tournament champion, claimed four service breaks in a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win over Pedro Cachin, one of 13 Argentines to line up in the main draw. The former World No. 17 will next play the winner of Federico Coria and fifth seed Daniel Altmaier.
