Andy Murray will return from his left ankle injury later this month at the Gonet Geneva Open. The tournament announced Wednesday that it has awarded the Scot a wild card into the ATP 250 event.
The former World No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings suffered a full rupture of his ATFL and near full thickness rupture of his CFL during a memorable three-hour, 28-minute battle against Tomas Machac in the third round of the Miami Open presented by Itau in March.

“I’ll be back with 1 hip and no ankle ligaments when the time is right,” Murray proclaimed on social media in the aftermath of his injury.
Now the 36-year-old is on the verge of a return. He is poised to make his debut in Geneva, which will take place from 19-25 May. Andy’s brother, Jamie Murray, won the doubles title at the tournament last year.
Murray owns a 5-8 record this season and is World No. 77.
