Kei Nishikori is set to make his final Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships appearance, the tournament announced Monday.
The former World No. 4 player in the PIF ATP Rankings shared in April that this will be his final season on the ATP Tour.
Nishikori, a 12-time ATP Tour titlist, has enjoyed considerable success at the ATP 500. The home hero lifted his first Tokyo title in 2012 when he defeated then-World No. 6 Milos Raonic in the championship match. Two years later, Nishikori captured the crown once again. The Japanese star also finished runner-up in 2018.
The 36-year-old owns a 24-9 record at the tournament, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. Nishikori last played at the tournament in 2024, when he fell to Holger Rune in the quarter-finals.
The 2026 Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships main draw will take place from 30 September through 6 October.
