As the 2026 ATP Tour season nears its conclusion, the race to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals is reaching its thrilling climax. Only two places remain for the prestigious season-ending championships.
After Arthur Fils qualified on Wednesday, the scenarios are now clear heading into Thursday’s action at the Rolex Paris Masters Thursday, when Frances Tiafoe and Rafael Jodar could both qualify.
If Tommy Paul or Taylor Fritz loses on Thursday, their countryman Tiafoe, who is currently eighth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, will qualify.
But if both Paul and Fritz lose, ninth-placed Jodar will also qualify, completing the field.
Currently ranked at a career-high No. 8 in the PIF ATP Rankings, Tiafoe has previously reached the Top 10 but never qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals. Earlier this year, the 28-year-old American lifted the trophy at the ATP 500 event in Halle, reached the final in Cincinnati, and is now hoping to make his first appearance at the season-ending tournament.
Jodar, who turned pro in January, is aiming to punctuate his breakthrough season by competing at the season finale. The 20-year-old claimed his first ATP Tour title in Marrakech in April and recently reached his first ATP Masters 1000 final in Shanghai. The Spaniard holds a 44-19 record this season, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
The 2026 Nitto ATP Finals will take place in Turin, Italy, from 15-22 November. Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton, Daniil Medvedev, Flavio Cobolli and Fils have already qualified.
