The men’s singles final between Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia has started after a one-hour, 40-minute suspension due to rain. The championship match was due to commence at 4 p.m. at the Foro Italico, but did not begin until 5:40 p.m.

Medvedev is playing for his sixth ATP Masters 1000 crown and first on clay, while Rune is chasing his second title at this level. Medvedev has defeated seeds Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas en route to the final. Rune, who is making his debut in Rome, earned Top 5 wins against Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud earlier this week.
