Former champion Andrey Rublev notched his 350th tour-level win in style on Friday at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open, where he reached the final for a third time.
The third seed delivered a big-hitting display to soar past Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 6-4 at the clay-court ATP 500. Rublev, who triumphed in Hamburg in 2020, struck 18 winners and did not face a break point, according to Infosys ATP Stats.
“It was my best match of the week, for sure,” Rublev said after improving to 7-1 in his Lexus ATP Head2Head series with Auger-Aliassime. “I think I’m playing better match by match. It helped me that Felix played a really tough match against [Alexandre] Muller last night, it finished quite late. It also gave me a bit of an advantage.”
Rublev has slipped to No. 17 in the PIF ATP Rankings after being unable to defend his points at the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid earlier this month, but has responded well with an impressive showing in Hamburg. The 27-year-old is chasing his second title of the season after winning in Doha, and his seventh at ATP 500 level.

In his 28th ATP Tour final, Rublev will face Flavio Cobolli, who earlier rallied from a set and 1-3 down to defeat Tomas Martin Etcheverry 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 after two hours, 47 minutes. Cobolli, who claimed his maiden ATP Tour trophy in Bucharest last month, is up five spots to No. 30 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings and would secure a career high by winning the title.
“We fought a lot, spent a lot of energy on this court, but at the end there is only one winner,” said Cobolli. “I’m really happy and emotional, super excited to wake up for tomorrow’s final.”
