Andrey Rublev may currently only be an outside contender for Nitto ATP Finals qualification, but the 28-year-old will know things can change quickly in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin.
With his run to the final at the AITO Hangzhou Open, Rublev rose one spot to 20th in the Live Race, a solid foundation on which he will hope to build at the China Open in Beijing and at the Rolex Shanghai Masters.

Andrey Rublev – 20th (1,975 points), +1
The 18-time ATP Tour champion Rublev notched his 400th tour-level victory in the Hangzhou semi-finals to set a championship-match showdown with Daniil Medvedev. Although his good friend Medvedev proved too strong in the title clash at the ATP 250, Rublev has nonetheless moved up to 20th in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin. A five-time qualifier for the Nitto ATP Finals, Rublev is 1,045 points shy of eighth-placed Medvedev with plenty of points left to play for.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina – 28th (1,450 points), +4
Having lost his first five ATP Tour finals, Davidovich Fokina made it two championship-match wins in a row by overcoming Hubert Hurkacz at the Chengdu Open. With his second ATP 250 title of the year, the Spaniard rose four spots to 28th in the Live Race. While he is a long way off a Nitto ATP Finals qualification spot, he could spring a late surprise with deep runs at the ATP 500 event in Tokyo and the ATP Masters 1000 in Shanghai.
The Chasing Pack For Turin: Medvedev consolidates eighth spot with Hangzhou crown
The only man in the top 20 of the Live Race besides Rublev to play one of the Chinese ATP 250s, Medvedev consolidated his position in eighth by claiming his third ATP Tour trophy of the season in Hangzhou. The 2020 Nitto ATP Finals champion is now 511 points clear of ninth-placed Rafael Jodar.
