Shelton confirmed for 2026 Laver Cup in London

Ben Shelton has committed to represent Team World at the 2026 Laver Cup, with the American set to make his third appearance at the teams event.

The World No. 6 joins Team World alongside Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, while Team Europe has already confirmed Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev. Five of the Top 10 players in the PIF ATP Rankings have so far been confirmed to compete in the event at the O2 in London, from 25-27 September.

One of the ATP Tour’s most electrifying players, Shelton has quickly established himself among the game’s elite with his explosive left-handed game and fearless shotmaking. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a standout start to the 2026 season, lifting ATP 500 trophies in Dallas and Munich to bring his career title tally to five.

Shelton owns a strong record at the Laver Cup, compiling a 6-2 mark across his previous appearances in Vancouver in 2023 and Berlin in 2024. He played a key role in Team World’s title-winning campaign in Vancouver, winning all of his matches. In singles, Shelton owns a 2-1 record, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.

Shelton will compete under Team World Captain Andre Agassi and Vice Captain Patrick Rafter for the first time.

“It’s always an honor to be part of Team World,” Shelton said. “Getting the chance to spend a week with legends like Andre and Pat, learning from them and competing alongside this group, is something I really value and that you don’t get anywhere else. I’ve got some great memories from the Laver Cup already and I’m excited to get back out there in London with the guys.”

Agassi said: “Pat and I couldn’t be happier that Ben is joining the team. He is a dynamic talent that will help us in singles, doubles, as well as with his infectious energy in the locker room and from the bench.”

The 2026 edition marks the Laver Cup’s return to London and the O2, which hosted the 2022 event highlighted by Roger Federer’s emotional farewell match alongside Rafael Nadal, with Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray also present for Team Europe.

Team World has claimed three of the past four Laver Cup titles — including the 2025 edition — heading into this year’s showdown in London.
