For the past year, Trinity Rodman has been one of the proudest members of Ben Shelton’s support team.
One of the many examples of her backing came last week, when the Washington Spirit star made a surprise visit to Montreal ahead of Shelton’s fourth-round match at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers. Four days later, Shelton successfully defended his title at the Canadian ATP Masters 1000 event.
Following Shelton’s straight-sets victory against countryman Brandon Nakashima in Thursday’s final, Rodman took to Instagram to celebrate her boyfriend’s latest achievement.
“Drive, dedication and commitment,” Rodman wrote. “Back to back Canada champ! Celebrate every win baby ♥️I love you.”
Rodman has been a regular presence at Shelton’s tournaments over the past year, while the American has also returned the favour by attending a number of Washington Spirit matches.
Shelton’s run in Montreal earned him his fourth and biggest ATP Tour title of the season, with the 23-year-old returning to No. 6 in the PIF ATP Rankings, just one spot shy of his career high, as a result.
The American is also up to fourth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, putting himself in strong position to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals for a second consecutive year.
Shelton will now look to build on his latest Masters 1000 triumph as the North American hard-court swing season continues at the Cincinnati Open, where he will open against Jaime Faria or Jenson Brooksby.
