Carlos Alcaraz found the perfect way to save break point at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, where he claimed May’s Stella Artois ATP Perfect Serve.
Serving at 6-4, 3-4, 40/Ad against budding rival Jack Draper in the quarter-finals, Alcaraz puffed his cheeks and slammed an expertly-disguised ace out wide. The Spaniard reeled off the following three games to win the clash and went on to capture his maiden title at the Italian ATP Masters 1000.
“Such a good serve from Alcaraz,” said Sam Querrey, co-host of the Nothing Major podcast and a big-serving former No. 11 in the PIF ATP Rankings himself. “He’s not the tallest guy on Tour but for him to find that angle is so good.”
