“Pick your jaw back up,” the commentator exclaimed after Alejandro Tabilo produced a spectacular tweener against Ben Shelton at the Mubadala DC Open last month.
It was the perfect reaction to the Chilean’s moment of brilliance, which left fans in raptures and has now earned Tabilo the Hot Shot of the Month presented by Yokohama award for July.
After showing lightning-quick reactions at the net, Tabilo was forced back towards the baseline when Shelton lifted a lob over his head. But the Chilean, without hesitation, unleashed a perfectly executed tweener lob that clipped the line before he stepped in to finish the point with a crisp overhead winner.
Tabilo joins an impressive list of 2026 winners of the fan-voted award, including Alexander Zverev, Joao Fonseca and Lorenzo Musetti.
