Did we save the best until last? Jannik Sinner finally made his debut on ‘The Aftermatch’ on Sunday evening in Turin after he capped his standout season by winning the Nitto ATP Finals title.
The Italian, who beat Taylor Fritz in the championship match, joined host Max Whittle on Instagram Live to celebrate the 23-year-old’s incredible week.
“It means a lot to me,” Sinner said. “My family know how much sacrifice I have put in to be in this position… I am very happy to share this with the crowd also here. It was a very nice moment.”
Sinner was supported by more than 12,000 Italian fans inside Inalpi Arena and many were dressed in orange. The 23-year-old had a laugh when looking back at footage of fans eating carrots.
