Learner Tien and Tommy Paul have joined Team World in its mission to defend the Laver Cup trophy at the 2026 edition of the teams event.

Captain Andre Agassi has chosen American stars Tien and Paul to complete his roster for the three-day showdown with Team Europe, to be held from 25 to 27 September at The O2 in London. Agassi, who tasted victory on his first outing as Team World captain in San Francisco last year, will also have Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz and Alexander Bublik in his lineup.

Tien will make his Laver Cup debut in London. The lefty is currently at a career-high No. 18 in the PIF ATP Rankings.

“It’s a huge honour to be selected by Andre and it’s very special for me to represent Team World,” Tien said. “Tennis is so often an individual sport so being a part of a team is something I never take for granted. I’ve been watching Laver Cup since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to experience the incredible atmosphere of the event as a player.”

Meanwhile, former Top-10 star Paul previously served as an alternate for Team World in London in 2022, and then also competed in Vancouver in 2023. Team World triumphed on both occasions, and the current World No. 24 will hope for a third success this September.

“I am so pumped for the opportunity to compete for Team World in London,” Paul said. “I was disappointed to miss out on playing under Andre and Pat Rafter in San Francisco, so I’m thrilled to be back. I’ve experienced what makes the Laver Cup so special and there’s nothing quite like sharing the bench with these guys.”

As things stand, Agassi will have the strongest Team World lineup by PIF ATP Ranking for the clash in London, although the former World No. 1 will be wary of a Team Europe team that is led by Yannick Noah and so far features Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik.

“Tommy and Learner are fantastic additions to our team,” Agassi said. “Tommy brings valuable Laver Cup experience and understands what it takes to compete and win in this environment, while Learner has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young players in the game. Together they complete a very strong and well-balanced team, and I’m excited to see what this group can achieve in London.”
