
#NextGenATP Dino Prizmic moved within one win of making his main-draw debut at the US Open on Thursday.
The Croatian, who is fourth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah, raced past former Arizona State University star Murphy Cassone 6-3, 6-2 to reach the final round of qualifying at Flushing Meadows. Prizmic, 20, will face Jason Kubler for a spot in the field of 128.
In other qualifying action Thursday, 2021 quarter-finalist Lloyd Harris also earned a convincing win. The South African defeated Sun Fajing 6-2, 6-2. Top seed Arthur Cazaux beat Briton Jay Clarke 6-3, 6-4 while Wu Yibing cruised past Luca Van Assche 6-3, 6-3. Second seed Jesper de Jong won a three-hour, 13-minute marathon against Harold Mayot 7-6(11), 6-7(4), 6-3.
Zachary Svajda, Mitchell Krueger and Martin Damm were among the home hopes to advance.
