Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton are set for a high-stakes clash in Sunday’s US Open final. Zverev is seeking his second Grand Slam title, while Shelton is aiming to win his first major trophy and become the first American man since Andy Roddick in 2003 to lift the crown in New York.
The final between No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings Zverev and eighth seed Shelton will begin at 2 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CEST on Sunday, 13 September.
Zverev leads Shelton 5-0 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series, having won their most recent encounter at the Nitto ATP Finals in 2025, when the German beat the American in straight sets in the Round Robin stage.
Top seed Zverev reached the US Open final by dispatching Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals. Shelton advanced to the final by defeating countryman Frances Tiafoe. Zverev holds a 1-4 record in major finals, while Shelton will compete in the championship match at this stage for the first time.
