Novak Djokovic will team with WTA World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in a bid to kick-start his 2026 US Open.
Record 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic and Sabalenka have been confirmed as one of the pairs in the 16-team mixed doubles main draw at the hard-court major in New York. The mixed doubles main draw will be held on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th August, with an eight-team qualifying draw to be held on Monday 24th August.
As well as the former World No. 1 Djokovic, five other current Top-10 players from the PIF ATP Rankings were confirmed in the mixed-doubles event lineup. Also competing are World No. 3 Alexander Zverev (who will partner Taylor Townsend), No. 4 Felix Auger-Aliassime (who will team with Alexandra Eala), No. 7 Daniil Medvedev (with Diana Shnaider), No. 9 Taylor Fritz (with Elena Rybakina) and No. 10 Flavio Cobolli (with Belinda Bencic).
The 2025 US Open mixed doubles title was won by Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, and the Italian duo were also one of the 11 main-draw teams that were confirmed on Monday by the tournament. Other returning teams from last year’s edition include Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek, while husband-and-wife duo Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina will also compete.
Three more main-draw teams are yet to be confirmed for the event, while a further two teams will earn their spot through the qualifying draw. The format for qualifying through to the semi-finals will be best-of-three-sets matches, with sets to four games. Meanwhile the final will be best of three sets, with sets to six games.
