Taylor Fritz’s title bid at this year’s US Open came to an end on Tuesday night at the hands of Novak Djokovic and with it, the wait for an American home champion at the hard-court major continued.

Andy Roddick remains the last American man to triumph at Flushing Meadows. The former No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings defeated Juan Carlos Ferrero in straight sets to win the crown in 2003.
