Stan Wawrinka will play in the 2026 US Open after all.
The 2016 champion has accepted a wild card into the main draw. American Patrick Kypson, who had previously received the final wild card, withdrew due to injury.
“I’m incredibly excited to accept the wild card for the 2026 US Open and look forward to competing in front of the fans in New York once again,” Wawrinka said.
The Swiss star, who has won three major titles, owns a 46-16 record at the season’s final Grand Slam tournament. He last competed at Flushing Meadows in 2024.
The US Open main draw begins Sunday in New York.
