When can Alexander Zverev climb to the No. 1 spot in the PIF ATP Rankings and become the 30th member of the prestigious ATP No. 1 Club?
Zverev currently holds 9,720 points in the PIF ATP Live Rankings, trailing current World No. 1 Jannik Sinner by 1,230 points.
With Sinner ending his 2026 season due to injury, there are two paths for the German to reach the top spot as early as 2 November.
Zverev would become the World No. 1 by winning the Rolex Shanghai Masters crown and reaching the semi-finals of the ATP 500 event in Vienna.
Alternatively, the 29-year-old would also secure the top ranking by reaching the Shanghai final and winning the title in Vienna.
Zverev first broke into the Top 10 in May 2017 and reached a career-high World No. 2 for the first in June 2022. If successful in his bid to become the World No. 1, Zverev would become only the second German player to reach the pinnacle of the PIF ATP Rankings, after Boris Becker in 1991.
A two-time Nitto ATP Finals champion, Zverev would become the newest member of the ATP No. 1 Club since Sinner in June 2024.
