Carlos Alcaraz has announced he will compete at the 2026 US Open. The Spaniard confirmed his participation in the New York major on Thursday through a social media video collaboration with Fabrizio Romano.
“Estoy de vuelta (I am back). Here we go,” Alcaraz said in the video, while the No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings also posted “HERE WE GO!” on his own X account.
The US Open will be Alcaraz’s first tournament since April in Barcelona, where he injured his right wrist in his opening match against Otto Virtanen. Now, after four months of recovery, the 23-year-old will seek to successfully defend the New York title he earned by defeating his great Lexus ATP Head2Head rival Jannik Sinner in 2025.
Alcaraz, who became the youngest man to complete the Career Grand Slam with his triumph at January’s Australian Open, is 22-3 for the 2026 season according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. He owns a 24-3 career record at the US Open, where he clinched the first of his seven Grand Slam titles in 2022.
